Extending east from the city of Nantes, the Loire Valley is often referred to as 'The Garden of France'. Dotted with a multitude of Châteaux (castles) built during the Renaissance period (16C), and later the Classical period (17 and 18C), the Loire Valley was where the Kings of France used to reside, from Charles VII to Henri III.
